The Fallacy of PMA - "If you can dream it you can achieve it"

"If you can dream it you can achieve it."

Dear Friends,

Please understand this point - there is a lot of misinformation and disinformation that is continually bandied about as the 'secret to success' or the 'mindset of millionaires' or a thousand other taglines for why you are not yet as successful as you want to be.

Part of this garbage (yes, that's strong, I know) is the popular, "If you can dream it you can achieve it" platitude or variations on that theme.

Really?

If you can dream it you can achieve it - not so much

Haven't thousands, if not millions, of researchers, clinicians, and care givers dreamt of finding a cure for cancer? Why hasn't it happened yet?

Because dreaming isn't the only thing necessary.

It also takes work, which yes, those researchers, clinicians, and care givers are putting in. But that's not all, because if it were just about dreaming and working we would have found the cure already as dedicated as those professionals, some of my friends included, are.

So what's missing in all of this? Timing and God's will. If you don't believe in God, that's unfortunate, because the preceding statement is the absolute truth.

If it's not in God's timing or in His will, it's not going to happen no matter how badly you want something or how hard you work for it.

If I dream of having $100 million but it's not God's will or not yet time for me to have it according to His eternal purposes, it's not going to happen, plain and simple. It doesn't matter how badly I want it or how hard I work or what books I read or what positive thoughts I send out into the universe. It's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Does that mean we just sit back and wait for His timing and will to kick in? Of course not.

We get to work on what we believe we ought to do and what He inspires us to do. And we work hard at it.

Then we let Him take care of the results.
